4th Annual Bird Buzz Native Plant Sale!

Check back next year for 2025 sale! Native plants offer birds berries to eat, nectar to feed from, insects to eat, and a place to nest. Bees and so many other insects also rely on these plants to create homes and nourishment for their lives. We can be a part of this rewilding!

When

Online sales are now closed. Thanks to everyone who purchased plants! Collect your plants on Saturday, June 1 12:30-4pm.

Where

Pick up will be at the City of Evanston's Morton Civic Center Parking Lot, 2100 Ridge, enter at the North end of the parking lot and you will be directed to the pick-up area. Parking will be clearly marked the day of the sale.  Bring boxes or bags to collect your plants. Plug orders will be in flat segments for easy transportation.

How it Works

Purchase your plants on-line,  print your receipt or save it on your phone. Collect your plants on June 1st at the Morton Civic Center. Pick up is between 12:30 - 4pm. There will be no time slots this year, just come when you can from 12:30-4! All orders will be pre-sorted for easier pick-up. BONUS this year: whatever plants have not been sold will be available for purchase in a separate tent for on-site purchasing! Your reminder email will be sent out close to the sale date. IMPORTANT: SAVE YOUR RECEIPT.

The sale is organized so that you can select plant communities that will build habitat for diverse native insects and birds.  We are highlighting certain native plants that support the endangered Rusty Patched Bumble Bee (RPBB), which relies on them. They are also great plants for wildlife other than the RPBB:  any plants listed in the store below with *RPBB* by their names will help the Rusty Patched Bumble Bee.  Ultimately we want to achieve a richly diverse natural habitat in our city of Evanston and beyond!

All wildflowers will be sold and distributed as plugs or pint containers.

Shrubs and trees will be sold in #2 gallon - #5 gallon pots, ranging from 18" - 36" tall.

Sale Proceeds support the EEA's missions to help plant our shared parks and schools with native plants and support the Evanston Ecology Center and its programs.

IMPORTANT: SAVE YOUR RECEIPT. After purchasing your plants on-line, print your receipt or save it on your phone. *** Please note: On pick up day, Saturday, June 1, if you are unable to pick up your plants, be sure you have a friend, family member or neighbor who can pick up your plants for you.  Any unclaimed plants will be considered as a donation to the EEA to be given to a local community or public park garden.
