Description
White Turtlehead provides year round interest. Flowering through summer with white or pinkish turtle head blooms, it feeds hummingbirds and long tongued bees. It is a favorite food of the federally endangered Rusty Patched Bumble Bee, and larval host to the Baltimore checkerspot butterfly that overwinters at the base of the plant. Turtlehead provides winter garden interest with neatly folded seedheads that provide seeds to winter birds, such as Chickadees, Titmice, Sparrows, and Cardinals.
