Join us for a presentation and Q&A about the native plants featured at the Morton Civic Center Habitat Garden 

Doug Macdonald, steward for the City of Evanston’s Civic Center native garden, will be talking about the different root systems of native plants and how that relates to their care. He will also discuss how to attract hummingbirds and will talk about how the color vision of hummingbirds differs from ours. He will give general info about how native plants survive, and what it takes to

keep them going.  

Bio: Doug Macdonald worked at the Chicago Botanic Garden for

       six years and became curator of Pullman and the research gardens.   

       He is currently steward of the Morton Civic Center Habitat Garden.
