The EEA is Currently Seeking Candidates for its Volunteer Treasurer Position

The Evanston Environmental Association board of directors is seeking a qualified candidate to fill its Treasurer position. The Treasurer position, like all the EEA officer positions, is a volunteer position. 

Here is a job description for the EEA Treasurer Position:

  • Is generally responsible for the financial aspects of the EEA organization
  • Works with the EEA bookkeeper to categorize any income or expenses for reporting purposes
  • Makes sure all bills are paid and income is processed on a timely basis
  • Handles financial aspects of EEA events: ticket sales, refunds, expenses, and more. This can include creation of budgets and reviews of event finances to ensure that they are profitable.
  • Enters data into the EEA's non-profit software, Wild Apricot, for check donations and membership check payments.
  • Manages and monitors the EEA's use of its non-profit software, Wild Apricot    
  • Reviews and publishes Treasurer reports produced by the EEA bookkeeper for monthly EEA Board meetings
  • Works with EEA bookkeeper to manage EEA accounts and investments 
  • Receives the EEA regular mail and directs any non-financial email to other Board Members
  • Works with the EEA's bookkeeper and tax accountant to do federal and state tax filings

The Treasurer is an important EEA officer. We are looking for responsible, motivated individuals to fill this position who want to play a critical role in helping an environmental non-profit organization fulfill its mission. Candidates should have experience in finance, accounting, bookkeeping or have an affinity for working with numbers. Having been an active member of other non-profits is a plus. Candidates will be expected to stay in the position for at least two years (the term of an EEA officer).

The EEA is a non-profit organization that has been in existence since 1976 and is dedicated to supporting the programs of the Evanston Ecology Center and promoting environmental awareness to the surrounding community. Click HERE to visit the EEA's website to learn more
