Description
Puffs of violet draw hummingbirds and abundant pollinators, especially bees, Monarchs and the federally endangered Rusty Patched Bumble Bee (Rusty Patched Bumble Bee). Flowering later than other liatris, Northern Blazing Star also attracts specialist moths and other insects that only eat from this plant. Rabbits may also eat it up, but Northern Blazing Star is drought tolerant once established.
